What is an FTZ? FTZs are designated secure areas located inside the U.S. — but considered outside U.S. commerce by Customs. You can, for example, handle, store, exhibit, assemble, manufacture and process goods before they are officially imported, so duties and taxes can be deferred, reduced or even eliminated. That can save you a bundle.

As your global supply chain grows, so do the complexities you face managing risk and cost. Let’s say you import quite a bit of inventory into the U.S. Some of the goods stay here, but others get exported later. Now you’re getting hit with duties, import taxes and fees in multiple countries. That’s killing your bottom line and slowing your growth. An FTZ can put a lot of those duties and taxes back in your pocket.
